Senior Accountant for a market leading company in the supply chain sector!

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who wants to join a international market leading company in Antwerp. This company employs over 10.000 people worldwide and has multiple offices across Europe. Their Belgian activities are centralised in Antwerp.

Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated with the latest accounting principles and policies, applying them effectively to ensure compliance.
- Conduct and review account reconciliations as part of the monthly closing process.
- Prepare and post detailed journal entries for the monthly close of financial statements.
- Monitor and analyze revenue and expense transactions to guarantee accurate monthly recordings, reporting any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with external auditors, providing the necessary documentation and information for audits.
- Generate key financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and other documents that reflect the organization’s financial standing.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and associated documentation in line with established schedules.
- Evaluate and improve accounting procedures and processes to boost efficiency, reduce repetition, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
Your Profile:
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Oracle Financials Cloud or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of MS Access and SQL.
- Exposure to business process optimization in an accounting environment.
- Professional certifications like CPA or CMA (active or inactive).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work across different teams and departments.
- Independent worker with problem-solving capabilities, capable of taking ownership of projects and tasks.
